On November 15, the four-day World Maritime Equipment Conference 2024 officially opened at the Fuzhou Strait International Conference and Exhibition Center.
With the theme of “Carrying the Dreams of Humanity to New Horizons”, the Conference focuses on the collaborative innovation of the industry and supply chains, industry-academia-research cooperation, talent exchange, trade matching, and transformation of scientific and technological achievements in hotspot areas of maritime equipment. The goal is to continue boosting the high-end, green, and intelligent innovation-driven development of the maritime equipment industry and to create a world-class event in the maritime equipment sector.
The Conference featured an opening ceremony, keynote sessions, and trade-matching activities, along with 11 seminars, boat displays, and other activities. During the same period, China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) is hosting the China Maritime Equipment Expo and the Modern Supply Chain Summit, while Fujian Province is holding the Marine Economic Industry Cooperation, Innovation and Development Conference. These events aim to highlight the most advanced technological innovations and industrial achievements in the global maritime equipment sector with market-oriented and professional operations.
The conference is organized by the Fujian Provincial People’s Government and co-organized by the Fuzhou Municipal People’s Government, China Center for Information Industry Development, Fujian Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, Fujian Provincial Development and Reform Commission, Fujian Provincial Department of Transport, Fujian Provincial Department of Natural Resources and Fujian Provincial Bureau of Ocean and Fisheries.
According to the introduction, this Conference will further advance the concentrated development of the marine equipment industry in Fujian, deepen domestic and international connections and project cooperation in the marine sector, significantly contribute to the high-quality development of the marine economy, and promote Fujian take greater action and contribute more in serving and integrating into the new development paradigm.
Over the past 30 years, Fujian Province has made remarkable achievements in marine technology innovation, marine cultural dissemination, and the construction of a strong marine province. By 2023, the province’s marine GDP accounted for 21.7% of its total GDP, reaching 1.2 trillion yuan, which has ranked third in the country for nine consecutive years.
