The conference activities are designed according to the structure of “1+6+1+N”-an opening ceremony and main forum, 6 special forums, one achievement exhibition and N concurrent activities. The opening ceremony and the main forum were held in Fuzhou Strait International Convention and Exhibition Center, and domestic and foreign organizations, experts and scholars in the field of marine equipment and heads of well-known enterprises were invited to attend and make speeches. The exhibition focuses on the products, technologies and solutions that have won authoritative awards in the field of marine equipment since the 18thNational Congress of the Communist Party of China, as well as the outstanding achievements in the development of marine equipment.
The conference closely linked with the relative national policy, focused on the professional field of marine equipment, and set up 6 special forums according to the “3+3” pattern, among which three were comprehensive forums in the field of technical and cultural infrastructure, namely the Asian Shipbuilding Technology Forum, the International Deepwater Port Construction Forum and the World Marine Civilization Exchange and Mutual Learning Forum; The other three are professional forums in important application fields, namely, Deep and Distant Aquaculture Equipment and Industrial Ecology Forum, Inland River Ship Green Intelligent Development Forum and International Boat Industry Development Forum.
A number of activities were held at the same time, including the 2023 China Marine Equipment Expo hosted by China State Shipbuilding Corporation, and the supply chain ecology conference of shipbuilding industry chain. As a special activity, the Boat Exhibition was held in Qingzhou Operation Area, Mawei, Fuzhou Port, showing coast guard boat, rescue boats, scientific research boats, etc., so that visitors can get a close look at the development achievements of marine equipment industry of China.
With the holding of the conference, the eyes of the world focused on Fuzhou. Fuzhou, located in the southeast coast of China, has a vast sea area and rich marine resources, covering an area of 8,200 km2and 485 islands and reefs (excluding Pingtan). During the Tanshishan culture period of 5000-4300 years ago, Fuzhou ancestors began to “dig gold in the sea”. The long history of marine development and heavy marine cultural accumulation have shaped Fuzhou’s distinctive marine characteristics.
In the 1990s, Fuzhou implemented the “3820” strategic project, made every effort to build the Minjiang Estuary Golden Triangle Economic Circle and “Fuzhou on the Sea”, and promoted the leap-forward development of Fuzhou. Since then, Fuzhou has actively integrated into the construction of a strong marine province and country, and strived to turn the beautiful dream of “Fuzhou on the Sea” into reality.
Marine fisheries have developed steadily. The national offshore fishing base has landed in Lianjiang County, and its scale of offshore fishing ranks among the top in China; The hundreds set 10,000-tons far-reaching sea intelligent breeding platforms have been put into use, the construction of modern marine pastures has been steadily advanced, bringing the “blue granary” vitality.
Port-related industries gather and develop here. Jiangyin port area is moving towards the leading domestic 100 billion-level new chemical materials area; The Three Gorges Offshore Wind Power International Industrial Park has become the “source” of China’s original offshore wind power technology; The Sino-Indonesian “Double Countries, Twin Parks” project in Songxia Port strives to build a B&R initiative demonstration project for international cooperation and development.
Honor and data have witnessed the surging “marine productivity” in Fuzhou. In 2018, Fujian Fuzhou Marine Economic Development Demonstration Zone was approved; In 2019, Fuzhou (Lianjiang) National Offshore Fishing Base was approved, which is the third national offshore fishing base in China after Zhoushan in Zhejiang and Rongcheng in Shandong. In 2022, Fuzhou’s total marine economic output exceeded RMB 320 billion.
An exhibition is a window in a city. Through this conference, Fuzhou will strengthen the docking and project cooperation with domestic and foreign marine industries, promote the high-quality development of marine economy, accelerate the construction as a modern international city, and make greater achievements in service and integration into the new development pattern.
