  On August8, the reporter learned from Fuzhou (Lianjiang) National Offshore Fishery Base Construction Command that after 34 months of intense construction, the main project of Berths 3-6 in the core area PhaseIof the home port was officially completed, and it is planned to be completed and accepted in October this year.

  At the construction site, two landing stages from east to west and four offshore fishing berths from No.3 to No.6, which are 640m long and 24m wide, have been integrated, and the surface has been cement-hardened. A two-story substation and office building on the dock have been capped, and the facade decoration has been completed. Dozens of workers are dismantling the steel formwork and starting the construction of ancillary works.

  Zhang Junfeng, the project manager, introduced that the main works of berths No.3 to No.6 have been completed, and auxiliary works such as railings, fenders and bollards are currently under construction, and the berthing conditions of fishing goods (ships) can be reached in November.

  According to reports, this base is the third national offshore fishing base after Zhoushan, Zhejiang Province and Rongcheng, Shandong Province were approved for construction, with ChuluIslandas the core area. As an important part of the construction of Fuzhou (Lianjiang) Offshore Fishing Base, the PhaseIof the home port project is a key project in Fujian Province, with a total investment of about RMB 359 million. It will build two east-west long stages, four offshore fishing berths from No.3 to No.6 and ancillary facilities, among which Berths No.3 to No.5 are 10,000-ton berths and Berths No.6 are 5,000-ton berths.

  “Theproject has completed 88%, and it is planned to be put into use this year. After putting into use, the annual throughput can reach 600,000 tons, which can effectively solve the problems of difficult landing and loading and unloading of offshore catches in Fujian Province and promote the agglomeration and development of offshore fishery industry in Fujian Province.” The person in charge of the offshore fishery base service center introduced that the project has completed the construction of berths No.3, No.4, No.5 and No.6; The port joint inspection center project has completed the main construction and is expected to be put into use in October; 78% of the pile foundation construction of the International Aquatic Products Trading Center project is completed, and it is expected to be put into use next year.

  At present, Lianjiang County is making every effort to speed up the construction of “one area, two bases and three highlands” in Chulu Island (Fuzhou-MazuIndustrial Cooperation Park Pilot Area;the National Offshore Fishery BaseandFuzhou International Aquatic Product Distribution and Trading Base; the Marine Equipment Science and Technology Highland, the Marine Biology Science and Technology Highland and the Digital and Intelligent Fishery Technology Highland), and build the industrial spatial layout of “South Integration, North R&D, East Tourism and West Manufacturing” to build a modern offshore home port and a processing and distribution center of imported aquatic products.
